These glass vessels were informed in the main from Iris’s strong fine art influence. All were created using two pieces of 3mm art glass. The design was worked separately on each piece of the glass before the two pieces were layered, the surface worked and then fused together. The surfaces are often reworked after the initial fusing to create surface texture or to add extra design features before being returned to the kiln for the final time to slump over a mould to create the form. Iris’s interest in the shadows that are created by her glass can be clearly seen in the images of the vessels.
